Reading Stories

I found Kaidrei reading stories to her dolly this afternoon. She didn't even notice me come in until after the flash went off when I took the first picture.

The girls have loved their echo microphones that they got in their stockings for Christmas!

Doll Bed

I made the girls a doll bed for Christmas. When Kaidrei first saw it she tried to lay on it and when she didn't fit was very insistent that it was for Malea. So Malea had to try out the bed. I think it is a better fit for the dolls and I'm sure Malea agrees!

On December 27, Malea learned how to give kisses! I love the little smacking noise she makes when she does it! Now we just wish we were seeing them more often...

Once again - just a quick video from my phone.

This was from earlier today - I was pretty impressed at how well Malea was getting the shapes put back in.

I'm not sure what is more pathetic - that I didn't rake the leaves on our lawn back in September/October when they fell, or that it is nice enough in January that I was finally able to get it done!

Kaidrei enjoyed helping me - though she had to rest for a minute but kept her little rake close by.

I absolutely love this girl and her giant personality!

Throwing leaves

Malea was not sure at all what to think of the whole business. The grass and leaves were just too much for her after just waking up from a nap.

Kaidrei got buried in the leave (and apparently a stray candy wrapper!)

What a fun day!

Crazy Weather

Usually at this point in the year crazy weather would mean blizzards, but not this year. It was 50+ degrees today! So after walking home from preschool, we stayed outside and played for an hour and a half or more and the kiddos loved it.

Getting dirt for the pile on the steps.

Malea fell asleep in the stroller on the way home and slept for the first hour of the playtime before joining in.

Yesterday the girls and I tagged along with Ashlee to Ikea! It is such a fun and huge store. Sadly Kaidrei was an inch too short to play in the playland they have there (plus you have to be toilet trained...hmmm). She didn't seem to mind walking along with us. She especially loved all the apartment setups. She really liked this bed with the canopy.

Things went relatively well until we made it to the bedding section of the store (which was only about 1/3 of the way through - or less). Kaidrei saw all these beds made up with pillows and blankets - took of her shoes and declared it was bedtime and proceeded to climb in. We had quite the battle at that point and bee-lined as much as possible to the exit. Malea was really good too, though the one picture I took of her didn't get saved because my phone died in the midst of it.

We told Kaidrei we were going and she kept saying Ikea (sorry the video isn't great - it was off my cell phone).
